2015 Ferrari California T Track Test تجربة فيراري كاليفورنيا بحلبة البحرين

Ibraheem: Hi,
Today we have 2015 Ferrari California T drive test done by Yousef at BIC
we will have some questions and willing to have his own opinion
What is California? what are the specs in general?
Yousef: good question
the new California changed to California T and it has lot of differences when compared with old model
1st it is now Turbo V8 3.8
the old one has the engine of the F430 V8 4.3L
power in the new is much higher than the old model
new model has 560 hp 70 hp more than the old one
and has 755 Nm which is higher by 150 Nm
Now the outside look is also improved so much
the old shape is not that good, it stands high and from the back it has strange two exhaust pipe above each other
I noticed some of the guys can not distinguish between the F12 and the California T
California T is 2+2 seats but the back seats are for children
it is a convertible so you can enjoy the spring days
Turbo engine inspired by the F40 which we will see also in the new 488
they lowered the engine by 4 cm to lower center of gravity for more stability
California T design inspired from the old 250 Testa Rossa
you can see it has the same lines from the front and rear fenders
since it is a GT and 4 seats you can assume the weight is high started from 1730 kg
it is front engine rear wheel drive with weight distribution of 47 front 53 rear
7 speed double clutch gear
Ferrari saying it can go from 0-100 km in 3.6 s
it is coming with 19″ or 20″ wheels with 245 front and 285 rear tires
ceramic brakes with 390 mm front and 360 mm rear
Ibraheem: how do you see it on the track?
Yousef: I really did not expect the good performance especially with this heavy weight
when accelerating I noticed the gear is slower than the 458 but not a lazy gear and has a good acceleration
it is the brakes that I liked much more even under heavy use I did not notice any fading
it is also obvious the GT car has softer suspension which I also noticed during cornering
you need to go slower than 458 to keep it on the track
But if you’ll take it to the track once per one or two years is fine
Ibraheem: you gave us a very good info about it as well your feedback after driving it on the track,
now who are the competitors?
Yousef: well the first car come to my mind is the Porsche 911 Turbo S and Turbo
the Aston Martin and the Maserati Granturismo but those cars really dependant on which brand you like
if you like Ferrari then you’ll take the California T
the one who likes Porsche will take the Turbo and who likes Maserati will take the Granturismo
Ibraheem: great, now forget about all these things, I need your personal opinion about this car
Yousef: For me well, I will not buy it…
you are going to buy a car with a price tag of 900k SR, with some options the price will hit 1M SR and you will get the lowest model in Ferrari
the one who really would like to have a special car in this category I think he should go with the Granturismo
it has the best looking design,best exhaust note
I have noticed the California T exhaust is louder when the RPM is below 3-4k but byond that it is silent
also when you’ll take the Maserati Granturismo you are buying the top model which gives you self satisfaction
